Corticosteroids

When pain is moderate to severe and does not respond to oral analgesic or anti-inflammatory treatments, physicians might consider intra-articular injection of a corticosteroid (in the case of osteoarthritis of the hip or knee).

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is injected into the joint and may also be useful for treating gonarthrosis or coxarthrosis. This treatment is called viscosupplementation.
 

Platelet-rich Plasma

Platelet-rich plasma can be injected into the patient. After collecting a blood sample from the patient, the platelets are separated and the platelet-enriched extract is then injected into the joint.
