The Osteoarthritis Foundation has been awarded three fundamental research awards
Funded by
Laboratoire Tilman SA, these prizes were awarded at the 31st Congress of the
French Society of Rheumatology with the aim of promoting basic research in the field of osteoarthritis. They reward the following works:
- Reveal the link between the development of osteoarthritis and the senescence of mesenchymal stem cells (O. MALAISE)
- Osteoarthritic cartilage sulphate heparans show an increased degree of sulphation, associated with changes in their affinity for FGF-2 and VEGF and their effects on mesenchymal stem cells and chondrocytes (P. ALBANESE)
- Development of a model of osteoarthritis in the humanized mouse in order to study the therapeutic effects of encapsulated human mesenchymal stem cells (B. METAYER)
